Privacy policy
Last updated: November 8, 2026
This policy explains what Bonkland collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers the website bonkland.app and the game at play.bonkland.app, including the iOS and Android apps. The short version: we collect only what the game needs to run your account and to see how people play. We show no ads and we sell nothing.
Who we are
Bonkland is made by [Your name or company], [address, country]. For anything about your data, write to [email protected].
What we collect and why
Playing without an account. Your park is saved in your browser's storage on your own device. It does not reach us.
Your account. When you pick a nickname we store the nickname, your email address, your password (only as a salted hash, never the password itself) and the cloud copy of your parks. We use them to sign you in, to keep your parks on every device and to contact you about your account.
Friends and other players. Your nickname and your park can be seen by other players when you add friends, visit parks, send likes and invites, or appear in a top list.
Reminders. If you allow notifications, we keep your browser's push subscription so we can tell you when your tills are full or the camp has gathered goods. No account is needed. You can switch reminders off in the game's settings or in your browser.
Usage statistics. The game sends anonymous events, such as progress in the first hour, level-ups, sessions, guest counts and errors, with a random ID made on your device. They contain no nickname, email or park. They are processed by PostHog in the EU. You can turn them off in the game's settings with the Anonymous stats switch.
The website. The site counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies. It also sends a few anonymous events to PostHog (a page was viewed, Play was pressed, a form was sent) with a random ID kept in your browser; when you press Play, the same ID goes to the game so we can see how many visitors start playing. Nothing is sent if your browser asks sites not to track you. The contact form sends your name, email, topic and message to our support mailbox and keeps a copy in our database. If you sign up for launch news, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a form is sent by a person and not a bot.
Server logs. Our hosting provider processes IP addresses and basic request data to deliver the site and the game and to protect them from abuse.
Who helps us
- Cloudflare: hosting, databases, email routing, Turnstile and Web Analytics.
- PostHog (EU): anonymous usage statistics.
- Google: the mailbox where support email arrives.
- Apple and Google: the app stores, under their own privacy policies.
They process data only to provide their service to us.
How long we keep it
Account data and cloud parks stay until you delete your account. Launch-news emails stay until you unsubscribe. Support messages stay for [period] after we answer. Usage statistics are kept for [period].
Your rights
You can ask us to show, correct, export or delete your data, or to stop using it. Write to [email protected] from the email on your account and we will answer within 30 days. If you live in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Bonkland is a game for all ages, and you can play without an account. To create an account, players under [13, or 16 in the EU] need a parent's permission. If we learn that a child created an account without it, we delete the account.
Changes
When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters for your account, we tell you in the game or by email.
